Role Objective
This role involves end-to-end ownership of specific fashion categories on NykaaFashion.com. The Category
Manager will be responsible for driving topline and bottom-line performance, managing brand relationships,
leading a team of executives, and shaping category strategy to meet business goals. The role requires strong
analytical and negotiation capabilities, cross-functional leadership, and a consumer-centric approach to delivering
sustainable category growth.
Roles and responsibilities
1. Strategic Sales Planning & P&L Ownership
Define and drive strategic roadmaps for category growth in alignment with organizational goals.
Own category P&L; manage revenue, margins, returns, and cost levers.
Monitor KPIs like GMV, AOV, CVR, and ensure performance against targets.
Lead initiatives to enhance visibility, discoverability, and conversion. 2. Brand & Vendor Management
Build and nurture strong relationships with key brand partners and sellers.
Lead brand negotiations, annual business planning, and joint marketing investments.
Ensure timely listings, assortment planning, and pricing competitiveness.
Drive strategic collaborations and exclusives to differentiate the category. 3. Category & Customer Insights
Use internal dashboards and external market intelligence to identify category trends, gaps, and opportunities.
Analyze customer behavior, buying patterns, and demand forecasts to guide decision-making.
Implement pricing, promotions, and assortment strategies backed by data insights. 4. Campaign & Merchandising Strategy
Partner with marketing, design, and product teams to create impactful campaigns and brand stories.
Drive monthly, seasonal, and event-based merchandising plans.
Ensure consistency in customer experience through effective visual merchandising and content optimization. 5. Team Management & Collaboration
Manage and mentor a team of category executives/associates.
Foster a high-performance culture through goal-setting, reviews, and developmental feedback.
Work cross-functionally with supply chain, finance, marketing, product, tech, and customer care teams to execute category plans.
